Pope Air

Vatican launches airline for pilgrims

While some passengers only turn to prayer when jolted by turbulence, the Vatican made it standard on Monday by launching the world's first airline for Catholic pilgrims.

I wonder how they will tell the difference between pilgrims from other faiths (or atheist pilgrims).  Will you have to say a special catholic prayer before you are issued a ticket?
What about in-flight meals, you're probably only going to get wine and communal wafers.
Jeez, there's just too many jokes possible for this.
Instead of the life jacket you'll find a bible under your seat, smoking will be allowed again because with all the candles and incense the air is polluted anyway, you get extra legroom but it is so that you can kneel when the fasten seatbelt signs are turned on or off, instead of taxfree products you can make taxfree donations, "this is your pilot speaking, the stewardesses will now pass with the collection plate, being this close to god you do not want to piss him off, give generously"

Okay, if there's anyone reading this it should not be too hard to make a comment here.

Belgium - Militant Muslims

Great deal of attention?
I read newspapers, watch TV and listen to radio and have never heard of this. Why is this not shown in Belgium?

Angry Catholic Priest vs Skateboarders

What's the problem, God got angry at some kids for calling a guy bald and sent his divine she bear to shred 42 kids to pieces, a little tirade is nothing.

Oh NOOOOOO

RichardDawkins.net is off-line.
Well during the day the whole site was down, now the main page and the forum front is back up but the forum posts and articles are still generating errors.
And just when my A t-shirt arrived, and I wanted to gloat a little grrrr.

Creationism in Belgium ...

Some Belgian politicians are talking about "teaching the controversy".
Scary that it is happening right here in my country right now, we have to watch out for religious crap always and everywhere.

There's no English news sources on it and it will probably not reach any level of even national news other than the current opinion pieces and letters to the editor type of reporting (in De Standaard 7/8,13/8 and 15/8)
Of course it's all the other political parties against the catholic party.
Some key names:
Luc Van den Brande (CD&V), Cathy Berx (CD&V) on the creationist side and Wouter  Blomme (VLD), Karel De Gucht (VLD), Frank Vandenbroucke (SP.A) on the rational side.

Petition

I don't like the christian references in some of the mission statements of SIOE and some petition signers believe that a no to islamisation automatically means a yes to a christian Europe but the petition and demonstration as stated don't seem to have a hidden agenda and can only be supported by and atheist such as myself!

Food for thought

I have close ties with Poland so I'm reading up a bit on the church there, and it aint pretty.

http://ec.europa.eu/employment_social/fundamental_rights/pdf/greencon/polhum.pdf
The Church in Poland is financed from numerous public and other sources: e.g. the so called Church Fund
(Government), local governments, State owned companies, European Union (as the largest land owner in Poland ??), business activities, all sorts of state and non-governmental foundations, illegal activities.
I would like to know what are those illegal activities are! (there is mention of buying foreign cars tax free and selling them for profit)

Some scary things:
